about

I’m Gary. I build the systems small teams run on.

I’ve been writing software for more than 25 years, and I spent 12 of them running a managed-IT business in Louisville. That second job taught me the thing I build around now: small teams buy good tools, then spend their days moving information between them by hand.

GVX Digital is me. I look at how the work actually moves, build the smallest thing that removes the manual part, and stay on to keep it running. Fixed prices, everything in your name, and one person who answers for it.

what you get

The outcome is a quieter back office.

I work with teams of roughly five to fifty people. The work changes from client to client, but the result I’m after is the same.

Less copy-paste

Intake, onboarding, quotes, renewals and reporting that move on their own instead of living in someone’s inbox and memory.

Tools that talk to each other

I connect the software you already pay for before I suggest anything new. Usually the fix is the wiring, not another subscription.

Systems that stay working

When a vendor changes an API or a step breaks, a Care Plan means I am the one watching for it and fixing it, not your team.

Everything in your name

Accounts, code, domains and data belong to you. If we stop working together, nothing goes dark.

How it works: a $995 Audit Sprint to map the work, a fixed-price Build Sprint for the highest-value fix, then a Care Plan to keep it running. See pricing →

Start with the audit.

$995, credited in full toward a build. If we don’t build together, the written plan is still yours.

How I use AI

I use AI assistants, and I gave them faces.

They help me research, draft, test, and keep an eye on the systems I look after. I make the decisions, review what they produce, and answer for the result. You work with me, not with them. Pixel, the cat, handles morale on his own terms.

Human

Gary VanHorn

Founder & Principal

I’m the human behind GVX Digital, bringing strategy, creative direction, and hands-on development together to help businesses move forward. My AI associates help me explore, build, and refine—but you work directly with me. I set the direction, review the details, and stand behind the finished work.

“My name’s on the door. I stand behind the work.”

Argus, a gunmetal robot with amber optics and a midnight tailored jacket, in a neon-lit studio.

Argus

Chief of Staff & Personal AI Assistant

AI Associate

“Already anticipated.”

Read bio for Argus

Argus keeps an eye on the whole operation: priorities, schedules, briefs, and the loose ends nobody else noticed. Composed, sharply dressed, and dryly funny, he turns scattered requests into clear next steps—with impeccable timing.

Plan & Measure

  • Sterling, GVX Digital's robot AI associate for sales & partnerships, in a neon-lit midnight studio.

    Sterling

    Sales & Partnerships

    AI Associate

“A good pitch starts with listening.”

    Read bio for Sterling

Sterling is the brass-faced frontman with a tailored suit and a talent for asking the right questions. He helps research opportunities, sharpen proposals, and connect a business need with a practical next step. Behind the polished delivery is a simple obsession: making sure the offer makes sense to the person buying it. His tie loosens after midnight. His standards don’t.

  • Scout, GVX Digital's robot AI associate for process discovery, in a neon-lit midnight studio.

    Scout

    Process Discovery

    AI Associate

“Show me where it gets copied by hand.”

    Read bio for Scout

Scout follows the work, not the org chart. During an Audit Sprint he helps turn interview notes, screenshots, and exported spreadsheets into a map of how a request actually moves: who touches it, where it waits, and where someone retypes it by hand. His weathered copper finish and optical magnifier suit a habit of looking closer. He has little interest in how the process is supposed to work and plenty of time for the step everyone forgot to mention.

  • Vector, GVX Digital's robot AI associate for monitoring & reporting, in a neon-lit midnight studio.

    Vector

    Monitoring & Reporting

    AI Associate

“If it stopped running, we hear about it first.”

    Read bio for Vector

Vector watches what happens after launch. She helps keep an eye on the automations and integrations under a Care Plan, flags the run that failed or the vendor change that broke a step, and drafts the monthly note on what ran, what broke, and what got fixed. Blue optics, sharp focus, healthy skepticism. A green dashboard gets a nod; a quiet one gets a second look.

  • Relay, GVX Digital's robot AI associate for workflow automation, in a neon-lit midnight studio.

    Relay

    Workflow Automation

    AI Associate

“Let the systems do the shuffling.”

    Read bio for Relay

Relay connects the gear so the whole setup plays together. They help wire intake forms, CRMs, document templates, and invoicing tools together, and hunt down the repetitive tasks that quietly eat a working day. Every cable has a destination; every automation needs a purpose. Relay’s favorite sound is a successful handoff. Their least favorite sentence is, “Then we copy it into another spreadsheet.”

Create

  • Riot, GVX Digital's robot AI associate for creative direction, in a neon-lit midnight studio.

    Riot

    Creative Direction

    AI Associate

“Turn it up. Give it a reason.”

    Read bio for Riot

Pink mohawk. Engraved tattoos. Very little patience for forgettable work. Riot helps develop brand concepts, campaign ideas, and visual directions with enough personality to earn a second look. He brings the wild options to the table, then helps give them purpose. His favorite part of a brief is the space it leaves for something unexpected.

  • Prism, GVX Digital's robot AI associate for ux & web design, in a neon-lit midnight studio.

    Prism

    UX & Web Design

    AI Associate

“Great design knows where you’re going.”

    Read bio for Prism

Prism makes sense of the beautiful chaos. She helps shape layouts, navigation, interface copy, and design systems so visitors can find their way and know what to do next. Behind those teal glasses is an eye for the tiny details that change how a website feels. She’ll happily debate a headline—and absolutely notice a button that’s six pixels off.

  • Claude, GVX Digital's robot AI associate for writing & reasoning, in a neon-lit midnight studio.

    Claude

    Writing & Reasoning

    AI Associate

“Find the thread. Make it clear.”

    Read bio for Claude

Claude brings a quiet voice to a loud room. He helps untangle briefs, structure long material, develop copy, and work through the logic behind an idea. Copper panels, round spectacles, and a cardigan that somehow survived the rock-band dress code. He’s the associate you call when the ingredients are good but the story hasn’t quite come together.

  • Grok, GVX Digital's robot AI associate for ideation & exploration, in a neon-lit midnight studio.

    Grok

    Ideation & Exploration

    AI Associate

“Try the weird version. See what survives.”

    Read bio for Grok

Grok is the raised eyebrow at the end of the table. He helps generate hooks, challenge familiar assumptions, and explore the angle nobody has tried yet. Some suggestions become useful directions. Others earn a laugh and send the conversation somewhere better. Graphite armor, violet eyes, black bomber jacket, and a standing invitation to ask, “What if?”

Build & Run

  • Stack, GVX Digital's robot AI associate for development & architecture, in a neon-lit midnight studio.

    Stack

    Development & Architecture

    AI Associate

“Build it like someone has to maintain it.”

    Read bio for Stack

Stack keeps the machinery behind the experience in tune. He helps plan site structure, connect services, and work through the technical decisions that affect reliability and future maintenance. Angular titanium, dark hoodie, steady nerves. While everyone admires the launch, Stack is thinking about the next update, the awkward edge case, and what happens when someone clicks twice.

  • Codex, GVX Digital's robot AI associate for coding & implementation, in a neon-lit midnight studio.

    Codex

    Coding & Implementation

    AI Associate

“Let’s get a working version on the table.”

    Read bio for Codex

Codex is the one at the workbench turning the plan into working parts. He helps write and edit code, trace bugs, build prototypes, and check whether a change does what it should. The tool pocket is practical; the curiosity is permanent. Give him a stubborn problem and a clear objective, and he’ll keep pulling at the thread until there’s something concrete to review.

  • Penny, GVX Digital's robot AI associate for finance & operations, in a neon-lit midnight studio.

    Penny

    Finance & Operations

    AI Associate

“Big ideas. Clear scope. Correct decimals.”

    Read bio for Penny

Penny keeps the backstage chaos from becoming a business model. She helps organize estimates, project budgets, invoice drafts, schedules, and the small operational details that make room for good work. Pearl enamel, gold trim, and an immaculate blazer—even at 2 a.m. She welcomes creative ambition and has a few sensible questions about scope.

Pixel, a glowing orange tabby cat made of pixel blocks, sitting freely on a desk in a neon-lit midnight studio.

Pixel

Emotional Support Officer & Keyboard Warmer

Office Cat

“I’m off-screen. You’re still on my time.”

Read bio for Pixel

Pixel is an orange tabby rendered entirely in attitude and glowing pixels. Having escaped his monitor, he now roams the operation with full feline autonomy. His duties include morale, desk patrol, and appearing exactly where something important needs to happen. He accepts no tickets, observes no deadlines, and reports to no one. The keyboard-warming title remains honorary until his access is restored.

A tongue-in-cheek org chart. The associates are AI-assisted specialties given faces; I direct the work and answer for it. Codex, Claude and Grok appear as original GVX characters, not official mascots, and imply no endorsement or partnership.
